Welcome to Michele Made Me!
Oops! You've clicked on the "About" page... Does that mean you're interested in finding out more about me? Really?... Crazy stuff. But okay if you insist. My name is Michele Pacey. I probably should be polite (like the good little Canadian that I am) and wish you a proper "Welcome to my sweet spot of craftiness!" I started this blog on the 12th of April, 2010, as a place to collect my crafty concoctions. One of the hardest parts of blogging for me is talking about myself. I never know how or where to begin. Usually I just make stuff, put down some words about the stuff I make, and pray it will keep you from nodding off. But if you're really thirsty for Michele-facts, I've written bits of my story back HERE.
Also, I have three children: two adult girl-children (known here as "Elle and Dia") and one boy-child (known here as "The Boy"). All three are beautiful, creative, and bright as sunshine. They are my loves. I don't share many pictures of them in an effort to respect their privacy. So you'll have to take my word for it, okay?
I am wife to a self-employed entrepreneur (known here as "Lo"). And I know this may sound cliché but he's just about the sweetest, most giving person I know. I love him with all my heart. Even now when I think of him, I could just burst. Sickening, isn't it? Plus, he's the cutest, which doesn't hurt if you know what I mean.
Names used on the blog are pseudonyms as you've correctly assumed.
I guess I could tell you why I do this whole craft blog thing. HERE's an interview that speaks to that a little. So, I make stuff out of other stuff, but mainly out of what some might consider garbage. I sew, I knit, I quilt, I crochet, I cut, I paste, and I love it all. It's a never-ending cycle that's been a part of my life for as long as I can recall. I hope you'll enjoy it along with me.
Other stuff? I love to sing. This is something I share with my 10 siblings. When we get together - a rare thing these days - sweet singing happens spontaneously. We've oft been compared to a choir of angels. The angel metaphor is pushing it these days though. We're more like a choir of normal fallible human people with good pitch.
I like to garden. But my garden has struggled the last few years. Maybe this year's the one, eh?
I don't do the cooking at our house. Lo does it. Believe me, it's better that way. Sometimes I try to bake. Just this morning I tried to make steel cut oats for breakfast. I burnt them. To a crisp. Rar. If I do ever blog about food, it'll be something that only needs thawing, melting, or maybe boiling (if you're lucky).
I was born and raised, and continue to reside in Ontario, Canada. I'm what they call French-Canadian, which means my ancestors are from France but I was born in Canada and I'm bilingual, or proficient in both French and English.
So that's about it for now. Thanks for visiting. Drop in anytime!

Hi Michelle, It's good to meet you. I love your site. Thanks to you my house is full of stuff that I would have cast aside and I now save to use for fun projects. . . I'll probably add a little glitz. You might want to come up with an organizer (out of that cereal box)for those project that you have posted so that I can keep them handy. Tee hee.
