In the Making: Dolly Donations

I'm making 7 boy dolls for Dolly Donations, a charity established by Sarah, an artist, wife and mother, who saw a need in the world and is working to meet it. You can read more about her mission and the work she has done to help unfortunate children on her Dolly Donations blog.
Incidentally, I found out about this "dolly drive" from a very cool blogger named Eve. She recently made her own batch of dollies and it is her story that inspired me to take up needle and thread and get helping someone less fortunate than myself.
Now as Eve noted, you don't just whip these babies up in a day. I started on Monday and so far I've cut out all my fabric and I've painted faces, I've done some embroidery and just started on the sewing.

Here are some pics of the doll kits I have put together for myself. On the Dolly Donations blog there is a free downloadable dolly pattern and tutorial that you can use if you wish. These dolls were cut from that pattern.

It feels good to help someone in need. I have so much. Such a good life. I feel like sharing a little of it...

Have yourself a great day!
