Gadzooks, It's a Giveaway!

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED!

Well, the people have spoken! Okay... ONE lovely person who's blog starts with a Dresden and ends with a Quilter spoke, and since I do take your suggestions extremely seriously, a giveaway is getting given here today!

WHY A GIVEAWAY?
  • First, it's a Follower milestone here at Michele Made Me! My heartfelt gratitude to you who comes by, reads my thoughts, peeks in at my work, leaves a kind word, and returns regularly to keep me company. I wish I could explain what that means to me... Thank you. ♥
  • Second, it's Sew Mama Sew's Giveaway Day in which I am a downright jubilant first-timer!
  • And third, 'tis the season to be giving, fa la la la la la la la la!

WHAT'S BEING GIVEN?

  • A small recycled ice-cream-bucket-turned-felt-and-embroidered-button-box designed and made by me.
  • Some Michele Made Me handmade covered buttons. (Find out how to make your own by clicking the link.)
  • Some Michele Made Me handmade wooden buttons. (Find out how to make your own by, well, you know...)
  • 2 spools of pearl cotton twine
  • 1 vintage lace collar and 2 pieces of lace
  • Some yarny crocheted bobbles

WHAT ARE THE GIVEAWAY RULES?
  • Please leave a comment that consists of YOUR FAVOURITE SAYING. In other words, what is the most common group of words that spills out of your mouth many times a day each and every day? For example: "Goodness gracious!" or "Holy mackerel." or "Ya know what I mean, jelly bean?" Whatever it is, that's the comment I want. Let 'er rip.
  • Make sure I can reach you by email.
  • Anyone, anywhere can enter.
  • Giveaway ends Friday, Dec 17th at 12 pm noon EST. The winner will be chosen by random number generator. I will announce and contact the winner shortly thereafter.

  1. OPPERDEPOP!
(it's dutch, it means something like 'it's all finished'. I find myself saying this to my 15-month-old every time he finishes eating or drinking something... so that's at least 10 times a day!)

BTW, I lovelovelove your felt ice cream bucket thingy!

  23. Mh... it's difficult... If the most often used would count it also belongs to my cats and it is the single word: No! And my cats are trained, they know what they are allowed and what not ^^ Nevertheless they try to make a lot of mischief and if I say they word, they will immediatly start cleaning themself (if that was all the indented to do) and look at me with such innocence.

But in normal conversations (such you have with other people or yourself ;))... it is with variations: "That's the question..."

  132. Most commonly: "Ezra Mark, you know better than that!!" because I have an almost three year old. :) lol

but otherwise it would probably be "whoopsy doopsy" which isn't really even an actual saying. I'm just weird and like to make stuff up.

  136. I OFTEN say, "Oh my sakes!" I don't know how I came up with it, but I say it as a response to many things around our house! I'd love to bring back, "Heaven's to Mergatroid!" I'm sure my 5-yr-old would be SO confused.

Love those threads, by the way! Thanks for the chance to win!

  139. "For Pete's sake!" I have no idea why, but apparently I do say it a lot because my daughter has now picked up on it. Maybe I'll peruse the other comments for a better one. Thanks so much for the giveaway.

    ReplyDelete
  140. Hmmm...that's a hard one. I think that it would have to be "Just a minute..." as I have 6 children and they have to take turns having my attention.

    ReplyDelete
  141. well, since I have a 3 yr old son the thing I say most is "Blaze please don't touch that." But my everyday saying is "Ya' think??"

  143. "Criminitly!" I picked that one up from Disney's Robin Hood. That's when I'm having an impatient and overwhelming day. My kids have a tendency to repeat themselves over and over and over, so on the normal days, my phrase is "STOP CHANTING!!!"
By the way, do you do your own photography? It's really really good! I can't wait until I have a bit more time (after the kids go to sleep) to peruse your blog a bit more!

    ReplyDelete
  144. I don't have a catch phrase (at least, I don't think I do... maybe I should ask someone else). I do tell everyone "I love you" all the time though, so I'm picking that one. Thanks for the giveaway!

  149. Great giveaway!

For some reason, the saying that comes out of my mouth the most is "sounds like a plan, Oso." I have no idea why I started it, but it makes my kids laugh so I keep using it.

  157. The thing I say most is probably "okay, here are your two choices...". Other strong contenders are "Yaaaar" (like a pirate) and "Oh for goodness sake!" (like Tasha from the Backyardigans) Can you tell I have littles? Used to be the first thing out of my mouth was "Oh for f***s sake!"

BTW, reading all these comments cracks me up.

    ReplyDelete

This time of year, I'm reminded of one of my favorite movie quotes, from White Christmas, "Well I never. Without so much as a kiss my foot or have an apple!" And I *love* your boys' GPS idea. ReplyDelete
  183. We call people "pomplemousse" (french for grapefruit) as like an insult without insulting them, i.e. "move your car, pomplemousse!" is our version of roadrage

    ReplyDelete
  184. Just stumbled across your blog today, and I LOVE it. 'LOVE' is a word I use a lot, I've got 2 kids at home and a great hubby. 'SWEETHEART' is said to my daughter a lot. 'BUDDY' is what I call my son, and 'BABE' is what I call the hubby. I use those 4 words quite a lot in a day. The most used phrase has got to be "Ain't that the way" it's from a song by Devon Sproule and I use it to refer to everything ironic...funny because I never use the word 'ain't' otherwise :)

    ReplyDelete
  185. I say so many things over and over - such is the life of a SAHM!! I think I overuse, "You have got to be kidding me"!! I catch myself saying it all the time and cringe!!
