Eleventy-One Days of Hexagons

Okay, I admit it.    is not as exciting as it once was. I've been working on    everyday for 111 days now and I tell you. Sometimes I just want to throw    in the river. If only I had a river.

Then again, whether I want to work on    or not doesn't really come into play anymore. I do    anyway because    has become something of a habit. Every morning I devote some time to    and I will continue to do so until    is done. Like    or not.

The thing is, I would never be where I am if I hadn't put myself on this strict do-it-or-else regimen. As a consequence, I am seeing the progress. I am witnessing the fruit of my work. And when I get to the end, will it all have been worth my effort?

Hex, yeah.

  10. There's nothing like putting a project 'out there' on your blog to keep you on track! It will be SO worth it when it's finished - it took me about 20 years to complete a UFO and that has given me more pleasure than a host other quickies.

  19. Ah, I know what you mean about wanting to throw it in the river when something seems tedious. But it's keeps getting bigger and better, right? It looks wonderful from your sneak peek here. Keep up the good work. Glad it's become a habit. High fives and thumbs up!

  20. Please don't throw it into the river, or tell me which river! Great! Can't wait to see the result. I made a Log Cabin like that, working a block a day. Makes sense to do a bit everyday http://maryandpatch.blogspot.ch/2012/03/growing-growing.html

  22. Oh, it is so beautiful! I totally get the river, thing. But, I think you should phone a friend if you ever get that river feeling again...a friend that makes a mean cocktail.

  23. Stick to or else sometimes is the only way! And it doesn't hurt that your entire readership is watching! :-)

And look at how they are supporting you!

One morning at a time - you will get there!

  25. Hi Michele,
I'm so happy you don't have a river! It might be taking a while, but it is looking just fantastic.
Keep at it and don't despair.

  26. That's a tantalizing photo. It appears to be a rainbow of hexies behind your hands. Hmmmmmmm....

  27. Michele it will be stunning when finished. The excitement wears off the longer you work on a hexagon project, but I always find it soothing to work on some EPP each day! So glad there’s no river nearby you!

  28. Your hexies are fantastic! I have this entry bookmarked (btw, I'm a new reader...) so I can refer back to it to keep myself on task. I have the attention span of a gnat but suffer from delusions as to how much I can get done. With that in mind, I started not one but two hexagon quilts two years ago and neither are finished. I'm making progress on one but until a few days ago hadn't worked on it in months. I grabbed some while heading out for kid chauffeuring duty and in less than 2 days of working on it just in the car, had a flower. So--that and your post have given me the kick I needed. I am going to work on hexies, dag nabbit!
