Hexagon Quilt Top: Check!

Thar she blows...
One entirely-handstitched-and-made-of-scraps hexagon quilt top, if you can believe!

All I have to do now is sandwich, baste and hand-quilt the thing. Phewf... I may be a while, eh?

But first, a rest.

  5. Michele, it is gorgeous! I love the way you planned and staggered the colors. I particularly love the red on the top and bottom. Are you planing on leaving the edges or are you squaring it up? I love them as they are now. What a feat!

  44. That is beautiful. I have one of these that I sew on from time to time when I don't have anything else going. I will probably have it finished by the time my boy graduates high school (he's 2 now). I love the fact that fiber arts are coming back "in style". I've always been a crafter and I am so glad I happened to come across your blog. I will be a regular now!!!

  55. This is beautiful! I'm taking the Block of the Month class, too, and the hexi blocks were some of my most favorite...since we learned those I've been planning to make a hexi quilt...I just have to get finished with my BOM quilt first (it's my first one!). In fact, I'm working on it right now and that's how I stumbled upon your blog - trying to get inspiration on how to hand quilt the various blocks.

  57. I can only repeat what others have said, this quilt IS a masterpiece. Absolutely astonishing to look at. I have seen many quilts I love, but this one instantly became my favorite quilt. I truly believe it should already reside in a museum to be protected and saved for all the upcoming generations. Thank you very much for sharing your work. I go back to my work table truly inspired.
