Yarn Painting: Happy Place

In order to complete the yarn painting (see yesterday's post for more details), I made a little quilt sandwich and added some small pieces of batting strategically for dimension. I then quilted it. And signed it. And framed it, sort of. With binding. That was a challenge because the edge was very crooked in places. So the frame is crooked in places too. But that gives it personality, right? You see all that personality there?...

And finally, Lo named the little yarn painting. He baptized it 'Happy Place'. And, well, I liked it.

Here it is all done!

P.S. You'll notice how I've participated in the "Get Your Craft On Tuesday" over at Today's Creative Blog. Go check out all the amazing projects and the people out there doing them!

In the Making: Yarn Painting

Yesterday, I started another new project. Big surprise. This one had been on the books for a long time.

For eons now I've been squirreling away two things: 1) those little mesh bags that onions and other veggies come in, and 2) all the little yarn cutoffs from any crocheting and knitting projects I've been working on. I always thought they had arts and crafts potential but I'd never gotten around to using them. Well, yesterday, I used them in tandem. Here's what I've done so far.

(There's roughly 10 hours of fun in this 8"x 8" square!)

Here are some closeups...

And this is what the back looks like. Stormy weather...

Not sure what I'll do with this little guy... If you have any thoughts, please, I'm all ears!
