When Black Is Good

But for now, they're an interesting shade of... What would you call that colour? Salmon?

Once they turn black, we're going to have us one dandy treat... I'm quite looking forward to it!

  2. OH is that in your garden?? How wonderful! I have such happy memories of going blackberry picking as a kid - and all the scrummy desserts mum used to make with them! I don't think they grow up here in the tropics! I haven't had them for years!
Enjoy! Hope they all turn black soon!

    1. Yep, this is a bush my husband bought some years ago as a root and it has taken over a dry spot on the south side of our house. it's huge and we cut it back every year. this year it's particularly happy and fruitful despite the extreme heat. go figure.

  5. I love the first picture - isn't it amazing how there is always one black one first? Blackberry picking is my favorite childhood memory. When I moved, I was devastated to find there are no blackberries in Los Angeles! I miss them!

  7. Oh wonderful, Michele. They're getting riper and riper. Yep, I too love blackberries on ice cream in a cobbler, pie or crisp. I grew up on a farm that had wild blackberry bushes everywhere. We picked tons, ate tons, even canned tons of them for after summer. But there were still more than we could possibly gather or eat. Have fun watching yours ripen and then feasting on them.

And I almost forgot to say, thank you for visiting my blog again. Always a treat to have you drop by. Heeheehee!
