Nooks and Crannies

Where did the weekend go? It just flew, didn't it?

Lo (he's the cutie up above) and I spent the weekend painting the entrance, stairway and upstairs hallway of our tiny house. Our house is a 1-1/2 storey cottage in the city complete with a mazillion nooks and crannies, awkward corners, and hard-to-reach places. We've lived in this house for going on 7 years now and had never painted this area. Now I know why. It was VERY slow going. But man, was it begging for fresh paint!

All day Saturday was spent washing everything in preparation for painting, and then applying a coat of paint to the ceilings. And then Sunday was spent finishing the ceilings, and laying the first coat of paint on the walls. We still have to do one more coat on the walls. So guess what I'm doing today. Oh goodie. But it's already about a hundred and fifty times better. So by the end of the day it'll be done. And clean. And bright. And done. Cannot wait.

Oh and look what came in the mail on Friday! It's a gorgeous phone case. Look at the detail in this piece....

And look at this pretty coffee holder...

And look at this awesome book "Handmade Decorative Books" by Sue Roddis!

These are all from my bloggy friend Jensters from Jen's Inspirations, whose giveaway I won just recently. The phone case and coffee holder are handmade by Jensters herself. Isn't she a talent? The win coincided so nicely with my birthday, and I couldn't be more pleased with my winnings. I will take good care of these treasures and will soon be making a project from the book, that's a promise. Thank you so much for totally randomly picking me Jen! Am I lucky or what? I am, you know. Warm hugs to you, Jen. ♥

Okay, gotta paint!... You have a great day, and I'll see you again real soon!
