I showed you how to make them HERE. So now what? Well, here we go...
Pros of the junkmail wall blizzard:
- Free.
- Nice activity that permits one to watch a lovely movie, sing sweet Christmas carols, or do leg exercises whilst accomplishing.
- Warm.
- Reminds one of old-time cozy flannel pajamas.
- Still safe to go outside.
- There's nothing to shovel.
- Stunningly pretty.
- And of course...
RAINBOW-y.
Cons of the junkmail wall blizzard:
Prepare to be distracted.
Have yourself a fantastic weekend. I'll be back on Tuesday. ♥M
- Time and perseverance are required to fold, cut, press, and tape up a whole beautiful blizzard.
- Forced to pick one favourite snowflake by family.
- Sudden urges to hug the walls.
- Once up, likely to stay up there for good.
- And, oddly, quite...
MESMERIZING.
Prepare to be distracted.
Have yourself a fantastic weekend. I'll be back on Tuesday. ♥M

ReplyDeleteAmy (and Mark):
This is what I used, which I just happened to have around:
Scotch Magic Tape
I just cut tiny little strips and rolled them up and stuck them to the back near the edges of the flakes (in many places).

ReplyDeleteSooooo love these....made some out of music paper, newspaper sale circulars & the funnies and trying map paper next.....thank you Michele
ReplyDeleteVery, very pretty. I think the hanging up would be the tough part.
ReplyDeleteOne year we hang a bunch of them from the ceiling in K's room. They stayed there for several years...every so often one would fall eventually there were only two and I decided maybe I should get a ladder down and remove them as well as the thumb tacks and extra string. :)
Nope - not an immaculate housekeeper - especially in the girls' rooms.
How beautiful, and yes, mesmerizing. It seems a very good pair of scissors is required, do have any recommendations? Thanks for the inspiration, Michele.
ReplyDeleteSimply, I don't know what to say... So many ideas and I'm going to try it by my own! If you have time, please visit my blog, it's new, but I'd be happy to hear what you think about my work.
ReplyDeleteThanks for inspiring me. Hanuszka from Poland
Wow, I just saw your idea on the Sketchbook blog and was linked to your blog. Wonderful ideas... I will be reading your work to see what you do next. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteI use my regular craft scissors (the make is Craft Smart and I purchased them at Michael's a couple of years ago) to make the snowflakes. I like these scissors. They are medium-sized, have a relatively fine point, they seem to be lasting fairly well and keeping their sharpness. I'm by no means a scissors expert, however. For expert product advice maybe check with Jenny at http://www.crafttestdummies.com/
Hope that helps!
Thanks Michele, just happen to have a Michael's coupon handy and was wondering what I could enjoy with it! Cheers, Linda
ReplyDeleteOhhh Michele, this is magic! So many different shapes and colours!
ReplyDeleteHi from Spain, I discover your blog trhou the web. I would like to congratulate you for your work.
ReplyDeleteI hope you understand my english
Merry Christmas to you and your family and all your followers.
Gorgeous!!! Another genius idea, Michele. They are definitely mesmerizing.
ReplyDeleteSorry Michele, I just sent you a message asking you how you make your snowflakes then saw that you have already posted them!!! Daaaa, Lisa
ReplyDeletejust gorgeous! ofcourse i'm gonna try to make some!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are absolutely beautiful!! Now that it's January I'm wishing I'd saved a few of those bajillion catalogs I got last month!! I might try it anyway. It will most likely be the only snowflakes we'll see in Alabama!!
ReplyDeleteHi Michele, I just made a ton of these and stuck them on my wall. BTW, I used tiny bits of blue tack to stick them on. I put them on the wall, put a thick card on top and rub over it, makes it much easier to stick all the tiny and delicate edges.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, you're so creative,
ReplyDeletethank you so much :))))
j'adoreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
ReplyDeleteI have just discovered your blog and, like others, love these snowflakes! While I don't get a lot of junk mail, a thought just ran thru my mind - use old Christmas wrapping paper! I'm one of those that saves the paper from around a gift because I just KNOW I'll find a use for it! Which, of course, I haven't until now!!!! Someone else may have mentioned this - I didn't go thru all the comments - so, just in case...... lol
ReplyDeletePlus, recycling the old wrapping paper keeps it out of the landfill!!!! Thanks so much for your posts on making them and ideas of where to put them!
Beauteous! What a gorgeous wall you have there.
