New Skill: Watercolour

On the plane ride home from Halifax, my restless hands needed to do SOMETHING, so I broke out the watercolour crayons which my DH (just figured out that this is the short form for Dear Husband. See, this computer internet thingy is a piece o' cake...) gave me for my birthday. I brought them with me because this moment of restlessness was inevitable, and I like to be prepared for when it rears its persistent little head. At any rate, these crayons are amazing! What I did was I coloured spots of the desired hues onto a piece of scrap paper. And then I ordered water from the flight attendant. And then with my little paint brushes, I just dabbed a little water onto the spots of colour (my makeshift palette), and then started painting!

So here is my attempt...

And here is the photo I was working from. I found it in the inflight magazine.

Her face is definitely wrong but I kinda like it that way... Perfection is overrated, don't you think?
