Hi! How are you? How've you been? Happy New Year to ya!
I'm still in holiday mode over here. That festive feeling has lingered a wee bit longer than normal this year for some reason. Consequently, I'm later than expected coming back to the blog. I've made not a single New Year's resolution. And I've made the same amount of plans for the year. A big fat zero, that is. So far, I've just been winging the whole darn year. Living dangerously, I am. 10 whole days of complete and utter spontaneity. Can you even handle it?
So, I thought I'd ease into the blog thing today with a few pics of our junkmail paper chain party chandelier.
About a week prior to Christmas, The Boy and I had a serious bout of paper chain-making fever. With the resulting mountain of junkmail garlands, we prettified what seemed like every nook and cranny in the house. By far our favourite thing to decorate was our dining room chandelier. It's so pretty adorned this way. I can't take my eyes off it actually.
And I haven't taken any of the chains down yet. I'm leaving them up for a bit. They match my reckless, devil-may-care mood I think.
Question: Do you have a chandelier in need of bedazzling? Answer: Cover it with junkmail paper-chains. I promise it'll make you smile.

Hello Michele,
ReplyDeleteNow that is recycling if ever I saw it! It looks terrific and is such a great idea!
All the best for 2013.
Big hug,

Wow! This is amazing! What an inspiration!
ReplyDeleteIt's truly fantastic. I too and winging it--no resolutions or plans for me.
ReplyDeleteThis is the most amazing chandelier I have ever seen! My sincerest compliments Michele!
ReplyDeleteLovely - I would leave it up too (things tend to hang around for obscene amounts of time in my house).
ReplyDeleteEnjoy easing back in...
I love the way this turned out! I don't think my husband would let me try this on our outdated chandelier, but maybe I should just do it and make him deal with it. It's so fun looking!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that amazeballs??? I love your crazy mood as much as your wild chandelier - hope both last a long long time!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Impressive as always. I hope your holidays were even more fun with such a display. :)
ReplyDeleteMichelle junk mail thru my front door is a pet hate of mine lol I was getting 10 to 15 items a week and most of them are double and treble fold menus from take aways.
ReplyDeleteYou could count on one hand how many take aways I eat in a year and still have a finger or two left over lol
I fitted a gate to combat them being posted and I have two different No leaflets/Junk Mail signs on the door and gate.........but still I get some posted through the letterbox.lol grrrrrrr
The people posting the leaflets are invariably foreigners and Ive learnt that those who cant read........and one or two cant speak....english, dont recognise what the signs say of course lol
I adore the chain link idea!Priceless idea gal!!
Fun, Fun, Fun! I'm sure it made for some great conversation time with The Boy!!! A big plus to crafting with children!
ReplyDelete"The paper chain chandelier is spectacular! And for the very first time in my life i am seeing chains as beautiful!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo wonder you took a break! If I were to follow in your footsteps - I would have to be on break until May I am quite certain!!!
What a wonderful experience to share with Boy. He will remember it all the rest of his life - the time spent with you and the awesome result!"
Well is certainly makes me smile! I think I saw it in your Christmas dinner picture??? I know I saw the paper chains in there, and I smailed then too! glad your back!
ReplyDeleteI thought I would pop-over to see what your are upto! Happy New Year Michelle. You are an incredible woman, I would love to see your house. That paper chandelier is something else. It almost makes me keep my junk mails!!!
